Five reported injured in Gaza strikes - CNN

Jerusalem (CNN) -- At least five people were injured late Monday after Gaza City was hit by multiple airstrikes, according to Palestinian witnesses and medical sources.

Israel Defense Forces confirmed the Israeli military was behind the strikes, saying they came in response to a barrage of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel in recent days.

Among the targets were two terror tunnels, two weapons manufacturing and storage facilities, and two terror activity sites, the IDF said.

The strikes come amid an increase in violence between Israel and Gaza-based Palestinian militants.
