This my friends is a disgrace! Once, and arguably still, the greatest country in the world is feeling the affects of the economic downturn along with the rest of the world. As reported by the BBC, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11332635, states that approximately 4,000,000 individuals between 2008 and 2009 who are of working age are now counted in the poverty roles.
While the Democrats and Republicans squabble over their idealogical differences, the American people continue to suffer. As neither party is looking out for the interests of their constituents, it seems that this is the time for drastic political change.
This doesn't mean advocating the Tea Party Movement, the Green Party, Libertarian Party, or any other fringe movements. Unfortunately it seems that all we have now in this country is far right (Tea Party) or far left (Liberals) as our options. I think what we need is something in the middle, candidates that will actually listen to the will of the people and NOT their own interests or the interests of their friends and associates.
I certainly don't have the answer to all our problems, but this might be at least a start.
